La USAF consideraba que, en lugar de gastar el dinero en la operaci\u00f3n de estas aeronaves, es m\u00e1s conveniente gastarlo en nuevos F-35. Adem\u00e1s, estos F-22A retirados ser\u00edan una fuente de repuestos para el resto de la flota.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En lugar de retirar los aviones, Comit\u00e9 de Servicios Armados de la C\u00e1mara, o HASC quiere que los 33 aviones se actualicen al mismo est\u00e1ndar, o al menos al Block 30\/35 con sistemas de misi\u00f3n, sensores y capacidades de empleo de armas, a un costo de $1.8 mil millones de d\u00f3lares.
